Konami gaming profit jumped 154% in the first half of the financial year, which ended on 30 September. The gaming and systems division reported business profit of about JPY2.41 billion, against JPY949 million in the same period last year. That doubles the segment margin to roughly 10% from 5%.

The segment’s revenue climbed 41.3% to about JPY25.11 billion. Unit sales drove the result rather than price: the Solstice 49C cabinet, built around a curved 49-inch ultra high definition screen, became the best-selling machine in the range. Konami described both North America and Australia as stable markets, with new casino openings and replacement cycles at existing properties creating room to place more units.

Konami gaming profit Reaches Record Half

The full-year outlook for the gaming and systems division was left unchanged at JPY46 billion in revenue and JPY6.5 billion in business profit for the year to 31 March 2027. Hitting that profit target implies around JPY4.1 billion in the October to March half, well above the first half result. That gives the division room to grow in the second half without disturbing the guidance.

At group level, the picture is broader. Half year revenue rose 37.0% to almost JPY308 billion, and net profit attributable to shareholders was up 70.5% at about JPY79.2 billion. Konami attributed the strength to digital entertainment trading better than expected, and raised its annual revenue forecast to JPY583 billion from JPY505 billion. Net profit guidance moved up as well, to JPY135 billion from JPY101 billion.

Solstice 49C Drives Unit Sales

Konami’s sales teams credit the Solstice 49C with the unit sales jump. The cabinet features a curved 49-inch ultra high definition screen and sits above the company’s Bomberman slot series, which kept leading North American sales. Dragon Rush and Bull Rush Stampede titles also performed well at Australian venues.

Two further cabinets join the range in the fourth quarter of 2026. Solstice 27 pairs two 27-inch displays, while the larger Solstice SuperNova uses a 75-inch C-curve screen. Both were shown at Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas earlier this month. Following this, the release dates give Konami a second wave of hardware to push into existing and new casino floors.

SYNKROS Crosses 150,000 Connected Slots

On the software side, the SYNKROS casino management platform now links more than 150,000 slot machines worldwide. That is a significant milestone for Konami, which had spent years building the system into a leader in the sector. Uptake broadened across land-based casinos and cruise ships operated by Carnival Corporation, following the fleetwide rollout with Carnival announced in June.

Competitive Pressure and the Osaka Pipeline

Konami was blunt about the market. Competitors continue to launch new products, which forces stronger product appeal and faster iteration. The company is working on new machines, new game content and new casino management features to counter that pressure, and aims to expand its share through functions built on cutting-edge technology.

In July, Konami Gaming became the first equipment maker to lodge licence applications with Japan’s Casino Regulatory Commission, in time for MGM Osaka’s scheduled 2030 opening. At group level, shareholders will receive JPY112 a share as an interim dividend on 19 November. The full year dividend forecast has been raised to JPY299 from JPY224.
